Dark blue, very nice natural leather shoes. We wore them to moderately formal events (September 1st, concerts, theaters, photo sessions, etc.). As for the drawbacks - slightly scuffed toes (which can only be noticed up close, upon careful inspection - I tried to capture it in the photos - see images).
