Scripture quote: Behold, a high priest who was pleasing to God in his time and recognized as righteous, but during times of wrath became a mediator. (Ecclus. 44).
Latin text: Christ's priest Meinhard preached around the year one thousand one hundred eighty-four. He built a church in the middle of the island of Ikšķile, [and] established a city on the banks of the Daugava.
