For sale: a set of antique bronze candlesticks in Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) style with a candle flame snuffer. Elegant and decorative candlesticks with flowing, organic lines characteristic of the Jugendstil or Art Nouveau style. This art movement was particularly popular in Europe at the turn of the 19th–20th century. Based on design, construction, and markings, the candlesticks were likely produced in Germany around 1900–1910. Engravings “GESCHÜTZT” and “ECHT BRONZE” are found on the base of both candlesticks. The first indicates that the design was legally protected, while the latter refers to the material used – genuine bronze. Such markings are often found on decorative metal items from that time in Germany. The candlesticks feature a decorative tray for collecting candle wax, as well as an elegantly designed stem with a flower-shaped candle holder. The organic lines and decorative elements give the items a distinctive and classic appearance. These candlesticks fit well in both classic interiors and antique or vintage item collections. The set also includes a long candle flame snuffer with a decorative handle, which is a practical accessory for extinguishing candles and visually complements the candlesticks well.
