Set of 6 tablespoons in baroque/rococo stylized ornament with embossed curls and an oval field in the center for engravings - initials. Original gift box. Inside, pink satin and brown ribbed velvet. This design was very popular for wedding gifts, anniversaries, christenings, representative sets. Specifically, this set was a wedding gift to my grandparents. The wedding date of my grandparents is engraved on the back of the spoons. The meaning of the initials on the front is unknown - my grandparents' names did not
start with these letters.
* RG MET means silver-plated metal - melchior (nickel silver - the most commonly used alloy for silver-plated tableware in the USSR) coated with a thin layer of silver
* The thickness of the silver plating for such sets is usually around 8–10 microns
* Period: early 1960s or earlier (judging by the year of my grandparents' wedding)
