The Decameron is about ten young people (three men and seven women) who tell 100 stories in a villa near Florence, thus trying to forget about the plague epidemic. Each day, each person has to tell one story (each day with its own theme), and each day ends with a song. It is widely believed that Boccaccio borrowed several stories from folklore and myths.
