Pastariņš' diary

The trilogy is a series of depictions of the writer's childhood and youth, reflecting the writer's own experiences, observations, and emotions. The writer speaks about himself to more clearly illustrate the people he encountered during his childhood. "Pastariņa dienasgrāmata" provides a vivid impression of the circumstances that influenced the writer's views and the development of his artistic personality during his childhood and youth. The Latvian rural social environment from 1874 to 1893 is powerfully depicted, along with ten years of observations in the Caucasus.
