The chandelier was manufactured at the EMI Poljcane factory in Slovenia (then Yugoslavia) in May 1981. EMI was one of the region's most significant lighting fixture manufacturers.

Such fixtures are valuable today because the factory no longer exists, and EMI products are considered authentic examples of 1980s Central European industrial design. The original tag makes this chandelier particularly significant for those who appreciate the origin of historical and documented items.
