The Russian-origin traveler Mikluho-Maklay wrote this diary about his experiences in the bay of Papua New Guinea during three journeys from 1871-1883. It is very interesting to read in order to understand the perceptions and thinking of that time, and how still relatively untouched human communities meet a representative of Western civilization. 320 pages.
