Belgium's Order of the Crown (Ordre de Couronne) gold medal. The order was established on October 15, 1897, by King Leopold II of Belgium. The medal is made of gilded bronze. The obverse of the medal features King Leopold II's monogram, surrounded by a wreath of palm leaves. The reverse of the medal depicts the Belgian lion, surrounded by the motto "Travail et Progrès" ("Work and Progress").
